Others try to reinvent the Wheel "But for us this is the Wheel"
Every RR Mouthpiece is CNC engineered with the skill of a master precision craftsman. With great pride and passion we are simulating the highly sought-after Vintage gems of the past. With our painstaking care as life long saxophonists, we hope to satisfy the needs of players looking for performance and artistic expression. Each model is Precision Finished and play tested to guarantee the highest standards of playability. Our Mouthpieces are Made in the U.S.A.
With the inception of Retro Revival, we are fulfilling a life long passion for great playing mouthpieces. We have literally spent four decades searching and learning the ins and outs of the classic set-ups our heroes performed on.
Finding a responsive and beautiful sounding mouthpiece was as difficult 50 years ago as it is now. Retro Revival’s goal is to produce exact replica’s of the same mouthpieces that Cannonball, Coltrane, Dexter Gordon, Sonny, Getz, Eddie Lockjaw Davis and alike played on. We are starting with the most sought after models, the best playing examples from our personal collections, starting with a Meyer Bros. Alto, Otto Link Slant Sig Rubber Tenor, Otto Link Dbl Ring Metal Tenor, Bobby Dukoff “Stubby" tenor.
Our manufacturing process is hands-on, from our CNC engineering, our RR mouthpieces will be replicated down to the finest detail with artisan care. Using the highest quality Vintage Formula German Rod Rubber, Solid Bell Metal Brass, we are bringing to life these virtually extinct masterpieces with consistency and improved efficiency.
As top pros in jazz and commercial music, we are going to play test and maintain quality control and offer expert advise. Retro Revival strives to eliminate the guess work and unneeded expense in your search for the holy grail of vintage mouthpieces.
